Cuddly, affectionate and very adorable Belle got lots of admiring comments from people we met when we went out for our walks, but Belle wasn’t just a pretty face, she had lots of character too. She knew what she wanted and was very put out if she was told “no” so much so in fact that she would actually go into a sulk in the corner and put on her moody face. I soon learnt that it was best to leave her to sulk a bit as she would soon come round, especially if there was any food on offer! She had the biggest appetite I have ever seen for such a small dog and no matter how often she was fed, as soon as food was put down for her she would gobble it up as if she hadn’t eaten for years. In fact I am sure that if you kept on feeding her she would just eat and eat until she burst!
She also had the loudest voice ever and her bark was very distinctive and more like a baying as befitted her hound heritage, so there was no way you could ever mistake her for someone else. There was nothing Belle liked more than running around the garden playing catch with her friends and barking at the top of her voice sounding exactly as if there was a pack of hounds coming over the fields with the local hunt!
