Next to arrive were four cute and furry guinea pigs. They were all girls and all around 3 years old. Their names were Daisy, Patch, Fudge and Treacle and they shared my two hutches and took turns at going in the run. The girls were easy to handle and fun to watch as they spent their days chattering away to each other and munching on green leaves and carrots. Around the same time I had an unusual coloured Cocker Spaniel come to stay. He was three years old at the time and his coat was described as being blue, black and white. The majority of Cocker Spaniels I had seen were of the golden variety so it was nice to see a different one. George was a precious little boy who loved his toys. His bed was full of furry animals of one kind or another and he also had a merry little string of plastic sausages with faces on them in a variety of expressions. George was a cheery little soul who craved human company and followed me around everywhere. He had to be involved in everything that was going on and was quite a character, but of course the thing he loved the most was being the centre of attention and getting lots of kisses and cuddles. George had to be kept on a lead when he went out just in case he got a bit carried away with all the countryside smells and vanished over the horizon, but as he had an extendable lead he still managed to have a good run around and enjoy himself on his walks.
