The two of them didn’t seem to be at all fazed by being dropped off at a strange location. Although Meghan hadn’t seen us for 7 months she did know us already, but Harry had never met us, so we were very surprised at how chilled out he was by the whole situation.
Once inside the house we introduced them to Genghis, their new brother. Thankfully they all got on well and Genghis was very accepting of the newcomers. I am sure that being used to having a large variety of dogs come to stay every day as a result of my business helped tremendously in his willingness to accept without question the two new additions to our family. Genghis had also become bored of being an only dog after Freddie and Ellie passed away and this was especially noticeable during the many long months of lockdown when we hardly had any dogs to stay for him to socialise with.
I already had Meghan’s pink bed and food bowl that I had brought over from Cyprus so she was catered for in that department and I had a couple of spare dog beds, which I thought Harry could use for a while until I got him a new bed for Christmas. Harry arrived with a blue harness but Meghan only had the collar I had bought for her in Cyprus, which was quite worn by now, so I decided to buy her a harness too and of course it had to be pink to match her other possessions. I didn’t like to attach her lead to her collar as she was so small and delicate I felt it put too much pressure on her small neck. So I measured Meghan up for her harness and managed to find a nice looking pink one on line, which I hoped would fit her well. Of course Harry wouldn’t be using his harness very much as sadly he would be unable to go for walks with his siblings so the harness he had arrived with would serve him well enough for the time being.
