I picked little Millie up the day before my client was going away and brought her home. I had no worries about Genghis accepting Millie as she was a very sweet and sociable dog and Genghis was very well socialized too. As predicted the two of them got on like a house on fire and spent a lot of time playing in the garden. I thought it was nice for Genghis to have some company and it would keep him busy as well. Millie was very good to look after. She ate all her food quickly and easily and she settled down at night in our kitchen sleeping right through without a peep coming from her. She loved exploring our garden and I also took her out for a walk a couple of times a day. We are very fortunate to have lots of lovely countryside around our house and are privileged to be allowed to walk in the fields and have access to private farmland so we can get out and about without meeting anyone else, which is really enjoyable. Millie and Genghis could chase each other about and let off steam to their hearts content without me having to keep an eye out for other dog walkers or people with children.
The week went by really quickly and in no time at all I was returning Millie to her grateful owner. Genghis had been the perfect host and had loved the company and I had really enjoyed having her so I offered to look after Millie again if the occasion arose.
