Tinkerbell was highly intelligent and adored playing with her ball. She was also a dab hand at running to retrieve a stick and was usually first to her target returning happily with her prize nearly every time. When I watched her technique to see how she managed this I noticed that she watched the stick the whole time and kept her eye on its trajectory through the air, making sure she followed it and didn’t waste any time by going even a few centimeters out of her way.
Her brother Bindy was a very game little soul and would run as fast as he could towards the stick sometimes actually managing to get it before his big sister. He never tired of having a go even though the odds were stacked against him. His little short legs would go ten to the dozen and carry him eagerly towards his prey and even though Tinkerbell would be there first and get the stick before him he just brushed off his defeat, picked himself right up and was ready to have another go straight away. Bindy was such a happy cheery little chap despite the difficult start he had had in life. In fact it was amazing that he had not let it affect him in any way and he remained trusting and positive towards humans.
Both dogs had been very lucky in the end and certainly fallen on their feet when they found themselves a fabulous loving home where they had flourished and were able to have lots of fun. Of course best of all they had met each other and were now friends for life.
